| Vista is absolutely fine. WTF headaches are people talking about?
I have VIsta now on 4 machines ranging from an old Dell 8200 laptop to a high end gaming machine and have had ZERO issues with it. Hell, it still run DOS game without DOS box. If you hang out on sites like this, then you probably understand how to use a computer well.
Everyone claims it's sooo bad only because thats what the media says.
Like all other OS's it had issues at the start and if you are still running way old hardware and cant get drivers then you don't need vista anyway. Most hardware from decent companies have drivers. Even my 6 year old HP printer works like a charm.... Flag this | Edit this post |

| NO NO NO
You CAN NOT compare Vista to WinME it is WAY beyond the junk that was WinME. Its not even in the same ball park. People keep making this comparison and it's not even correct. WinME was PURE JUNK. It was an OS that was a 100% step backwards from its previous version. Stability was... err there was none.
Vista at least doea what it should do and it does it 100%. It is at least being fixed.
ME was a total mistake, Vista just seems like it is but in essence, it will iron out the bugs, people will get new stuff that will work and all will be well (businesses aside) Flag this | Edit this post |

| I've been playing many old games without issues in vista 64. I just played through system shock 2 with no issues.
Really, it's just a fear because of what everyone reads. It is very good at what it does and I play tons of games using it and the games are all extremely playable (even crysis) and I do not really notice a speed difference VS XP. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I totally agree!!
It will work itself out. Business NEVER update quickly anyway so by the time it really matters Vista will be much better and ready. The company I work for still has people on windows 98 and windows 2k (a lot on 2k) and we are a foutune 500 company. Some in IT have Vista and most of them have had no issues, mostly because all of our business critical software is actually internal webbased products.
Its only bad because of the early adopters and people with old hardware. I'been running it at home and on another PC at work and it is fine both places. I even run it on a 5 year old Dell Inspirion 8200 laptop and it was A'ok. Flag this | Edit this post |

| I went through the entire game with the wrench, with all the power ups you can get the wrench becomes unstoppable. Only worth while plasmid was the decoy so you can get past the turrets and such. The way you revive made deaths pointless. I was taking down the daddy's with the wrench. I'd lure them to the vita chamber and whack them till I die then repeat.
I think if the game was design from the ground up for the PC and PC only it would have been what SS2 and what Deus Ex was, great amazing games. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Fully agree. Bioshock had flair in the design but the gameplay itself suffered dearly. No mention of the consolitis it has for the PC.
They kept calling it the spiritual successor of system shock 2 but it is not even close to SS2 is story, gameplay, and feel. Flag this | Edit this post |

| It took AMD over a yeat to get a competitive product out, which doesn't say much when Nvidia has a newer product line just around the corner. The new line will no doubt be faster than the current 8800s. It's to little to late for AMD. Seems to be the norm now for them, play second fiddle to everyone else.
Nvidia's new stuff will be expensive, but that the price the PC gamer pays to not be a console joe. Flag this | Edit this post |

| Agreed, this game doesn't deserve a 90%. It has done nothing new at all. It's really just COD2 with slightly newer graphics and a new setting. The still has all the flaws of the previous games and its old and tiring. Nothing about this game is new or fresh, they didn't even try to do anything new.
Most of the big name games get good reviews because $$$ are handed out.... Flag this | Edit this post |

| | Either they neutered the demo big time, or messed up big time. There is no reason to release the game if it is unplayable on the fastest systems out today. And they can't says in 2 years it will be great. It needs to be great now, on the hardware we are running now. Why put on all that high end stuff in there if nothing can run when using it? Thats complete stupidity. Games expect most of sales after launch, but with this, they must be expected to sell the game 2 years from now and just have it sit on the shelves gathering dust for now.
