» Changes just for change sake?
I personally can't see how things like "The Dock" are going to be useful features. I don't use my computer that way, and resent being forced by the interface to do things "their way". That's what's so frustrating about Vista IMO. It was "change" that was forced on me by circumstance, and I saw no real benefit in return. Sad thing is that their isn't a really viable alternative...

Windows7.. meh. They keep moving and relabeling things. Going back to Vista or XP (or imagine Win95), is like reverse bizarro world. I guess thats why I'm so used to using the 'Search' feature.

The cutsie effecs, gadgets whatnot.. dont do it for me.. but then again, wasn't impressed with XP either.

IMHO dont expect Win7 adoption to be any better than Vista not only 'cause economy but more changes to get used to. Lets face it.. kind of like Simpsons, we've grown up with XP for nearly 8 years...

All I have to say, the upgrade cost from Vista to 7 better be under $100, because I really don't see that much in regards of great improvements over Vista.

Have you run it? If not then please don't make comments like this because, well, you're wrong. It offers substantially more than the move from 2000 to XP.

» The "bad" ??
OK, most of people reacted just to first "bad" (being Start menu).

And while I don't have any problems with Win7's start menu, I have to say I don't have any problems with other two "bad" points either.

First - the bootloader.
What's the problem there exactly? You install XP on one partition, you install Vista or Win7 on second one. You turn on computer, chose your OS, and you're in.
Is there anything else I should know about this "bootloader roblem"? I've installed and reinstalled Vista couple of times (mostly for testing purposes) and have also installed Windows 7 - and I never had ANY problems with it. Even when removing Vista from second partition, bootloader stayed and worked just fine.
Just a note - I did NOT setup anything manualy. Just installed new OS, and that's it.

Now the final "bad" point - Vista done proper.. How can anyone say that the BAD thing for ANYTHING can be the fact that it is BETTER than the version before it? So should I say that WinXP was terrible because it was that much better han Win98?? OK, so timing is bad... but IMHO - it would be worse to leave us next 5-6 years with Vista as only option.
This is a BAD POINT for VISTA - and you can't say this is Win7's fault (??!)

All in all, I have no major complaints about Windows 7. Well, I do have one - lack of icons altogether (both in Win 7 and in Essentials suite). But if a reviewer can't figure out that NO ICONS IS BAD, they really shouldn't say anything about other stuff either :P :)

NHF!

Yep, the only thing I have found to not like in 7 is that I miss my icons.... other than that, when it comes out, I'm buying it. I don't own Vista and never made the initial change, but then again my XP Pro has been running as I wanted for all of this time. Now however, it's time to move on.

I´m still missing the information that hardware sound will be back on W7.

Everyone seem to have forgotten that it was removed with Vista. Now it will become extinct :(

It can't be added back. It was removed from the kernel for the greater good of the OS.

If you can remove a feature you can implement it again...

just for the greater good of the music industry who pushed MS since they think PC`s are used to copy they´r music.

As if you couldnt with Linux :P

What does wanting to listen to music have anything to do with the greater good of an os. for those of us that like to listen to music on the PC they screwed up there big time.
